Kathi (Luedemann) Kuchler
I love depicting nature through art, and my style is realism whether it's floral, landscapes or still life.
I have loved painting landscapes ever since living in Colorado (a good part of my life) where I began painting mountains, evergreens, aspen trees and snow scenes. Now in Illinois, I love to paint trees in autumn.
I'm also inspired painting flowers in any medium because of the variety of shapes and colors, and challenged with flower gardens and ponds. I also enjoy painting in different styles and whatever the mood is ‘for the day’ or season. At times I paint landscapes very loosely using a 3 inch brush for foliage or background. At other times I will use a tiny 00 size watercolor brush for the details in botanicals. I become totally “absorbed” in the subject matter, whatever the tools or medium I’m using.
